Our operators are flushing the low-pressure system.

They are currently on Chestnut St. working towards Strong St., Riverview St., South Main St., Fenton St.,

Pearl St., Pleasant St., Main St., Depot St., Dublin St., Water St., Pleasant St.,

Central St., Main St., Walnut St., Cross St., Thorndike St., High St., School St., Park St., Pearl St.

They may get to the end of this part of the list in the next 24 hours.
 Please be sure to check here for updates daily.

They will work their way through the system using the street order listed on your notice sent in the May bill.

Palmer Water District NO 1 will be conducting a Full System Flush during the weeks of May 13th to May 29th. Flushing will commence shortly after 9am on Wednesday, May 13th and continue until the system is completed. The operators will start with Wright Street area to do a slow flush to clear that area May 13th -15th. They will then continue with the list on the back of this form. Discoloration in your water may be experienced periodically throughout this week in the entire District. Please check this website or the Palmer Water District Facebook page for updates every morning by 630am. This will list where we are starting that morning. Please run your cold water first to check if it is clear. We suggest that you obtain adequate storage of water before the flushing begins and monitor the water throughout the week. Owners of Backflow devices should be aware that the fluctuation in system pressure might cause your device/s to trip. There is also the possibility that the devices may foul in the open discharge position. The owners should monitor the devices during the week to ensure the devices are not malfunctioning. The Palmer Water District regrets any inconvenience during the flushing operation, but it is necessary for the maintenance of the system. If there are any questions regarding this matter, please contact our Chief Operator or Lead Operator at the Palmer Water District # 1, their emails are on the website, or you may call the office, and we can relay a message for them to call you when they can. Water Usage Rates

Effective July 1, 2025, the minimum monthly charge is $37.15

Monthly Usage:

Water Rate:

0 to 400 cubic feet

$92.87 per thousand cubic feet (equal to =$ .09286 per c.f.)

401 cubic feet and up

$102.46 per thousand cubic feet (equal to = $ .10245 per c.f.)

 

 


 
All homes are connected to the public water supply via a water service line. 
All public water systems must identify, document and plan for removal of all lead service line connections in the water system.

There will be a meter charge on your monthly statement.
The meter charge correlates with the meter size on the property.
5/8" & 3/4" Meter Size = $3.15 Monthly
                   1" Meter Size = $4.81 Monthly
            1-1/2" Meter Size = $5.98 Monthly
                      2" Meter Size = $10.40 Monthly
                      3" Meter Size = $12.84 Monthly
 
Accounts are billed monthly and are due by the second to last business day of the month. 
Payments must be received by the due date
Postmarks are not accepted as receipt dates to avoid late fees.
Late fees are assessed the first business day of the new month at a rate of 4.5 % of the total amount owed.

PAYMENT OPTIONS

 

Please be aware that as of July 1, 2014, CASH IS NO LONGER ACCEPTED.

 

Checks or money orders should be made payable to "Palmer Water District #1." 
Payments may be dropped through the office's mail slot after hours.
When paying by YOUR bank's "on-line" service, please be aware that Palmer Water Department is sent a paper check.  It may take up to a week until the payment is received in our office.

(The Water Departments for Thorndike and Bondsville do not use UniPay)
Click "submit" in order to begin the payment process.
Please verify service address and account number is correct. If your account has a decimal it needs to be added.

MasterCard, Discover and American Express are also accepted in the office during business hours. Bank processing fees apply.
If you wish to pay for Three Rivers please use their portal link for "Three Rivers Fire District
 
 Water Bill's can now be viewed from the INTUITY CUSTOMER PORTAL.

 

 

The web address used to sign up MUST have your INTUITY company portal name extension in the web address (URL). Example: “https:///pay.waterbill.com/login-palmer-ma ”, notice the “login-[company]” extension. If the customer wishes to register, they must click the REGISTER NOW button at bottom of your Intuity company logon page and fill out the brief SIGN-UP REQUEST form then click submit. They must check their email, click the ACTIVATE link/button in order to complete the registration process. All fields are required in order to create a customer portal logon.
E-Statement will no longer have the full bill view. You will need to log in to view your whole bill.

All requests for final water bills for real estate transfers should be made by email. 
 We have attached a property transfer request form at the bottom of this page.

The transfer fee of $45.00 will be added to the amount due at closing.

PLEASE REMEMBER WE NEED 5 BUSINESS DAYS TO PROCESS.

*A $100 RUSHED FEE WILL BE ADDED FOR REQUESTS UNDER 5 BUSINESS DAYS.
