Business Certificate and Courtesy Letter
The Town Clerk issues business certificates; for information regarding obtaining a business certificate or wish to renew your business certificate, please call, 413-283-2608.
When calling, please have the following information:
- Type of business conducted
- Business name
- Business address
- Business telephone number and email address
- Owner's name and address
- Ensure proper compliance with Board of Health, Zoning Department, Building Department and town by-laws
When applying for a business certificate, we ask that a courtesy letter be sent to the Town Planner, Heidi Mannarino.
Courtesy letters are addressed to the Planning Board and typically describe where the business will be operating, the scope of the business, and any other details you would like to share about the history of your business. Scope should include whether there will be other employees on site, if there will be customers coming and going, any outdoor storage, business-related deliveries (larger than reasonably expected in residential areas), and any trucks or equipment over 10,000 lbs being stored on site.
Please note that if at any point the scope of your business changes or expands, you will need to reach back out to the Planning Board.
The fee for a Business Certificate is $60.00 and valid for 4 years from date of issue.
