Hydrant Flushing Notification
The Three Rivers Water Department will be conducting hydrant flushing during the week of July 6th and continue into the following week. Flushing nearby may cause a significant decrease in water pressure, which will last for no more than one hour. Hydrant flushing may also disturb sediment in the pipes, potentially causing discolored water that will settle out hours after flushing is complete. The sediment is not harmful but, if you experience discolored water after your street has been flushed, then you are encouraged to run your cold water through a bathtub faucet for 5-10 minutes, or until the water clears. Do not use hot water, and do not run your laundry machine while hydrant flushing is being conducted near your home.
If you would like to learn more, please read the hydrant flushing fact sheet that we posted on our webpage. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to call the Water Department in Three Rivers at 413-283-9284. Thank you for your cooperation on this matter.
