Retirement Information
Full-time employees and part-time employees who are regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are required to participate in the Hampden County Retirement Plan.
It is the responsibility of each employee to notify the Human Resource's office of any change of beneficiary on his/her retirement plan.

The DIF proposal will be on the agenda for December. After reviewing with WestMass Development, Planning and Assessing, we moved this to December.

Invitation extended to Town Council for The Mill Towns Regional Animal Control Open House Date/Time: Friday, Nov. 21, 2025, 3:00-5:00 PM. For those attending parking is limited on site but we have approval to park at the Monson American Legion.

Planning Board Seat is still being advertised as we have not had any applicants to date.

We reviewed our one-stop grant application for the Thorndike Street Sewer Siphon replacement with the State and were told our application was very competitive. Their one recommendation was to have a funding match more solidified as well as the permitting schedule. 160 apps for funding which was the highest in the history of the program. The total amount requested was 244M and only 97M was available.

The Community Development office was awarded an $850,000 grant from the Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities (EOHLC). Most of the funds as part of this grant will be directed to the physical improvements to Front and Park Street. CD Director will be joining us next month for a departmental update.
