Mission Statement:
To revitalize Palmer by meeting the housing and service needs of the low- and moderate-income population; building and repairing infrastructure vital to the health and safety of the residents; and supporting business development and retention. Assisting low- and moderate-income residents with fuel assistance, supporting social service through transportation and Domestic Violence assistance.
How the Mission is Accomplished:
To accomplish this mission the Palmer Community Development Department actively seeks funding from a variety of sources. Since 1991 the Department has secured $25,636,361 in grant funding and donations.
What Has Been Accomplished:
Utilizing the funds described above the Community Development Department expended on:

- Fairview Street Infastructure Project
- Depot Village Park Renovations
- Hryniewicz Park construction
- Endelson Park construction
- Diamond Park construction
- Stewart Street Infastructure Project
- Maple Street Infastructure Project
- Maple Terrace Infastructure Project
- Domestic Violence Assistance
- Community Transportation for All
