DISCUSSIONS
We asked about making High street in Thorndike one way and he said they already did a study on that and determined it would not be feasible because you would shift the traffic to Commercial Street which is just as narrow. He gave us a copy of that study.
We discussed accidents in town and we asked what intersections with main roads had the most accidents. He gave us a copy of the report which covered accidents on every street and at all intersections over the last 5 years.
We talked about crimes committed in town and he gave us a report on crimes over the last 5 years.
He talked about needing an officer on hand at the casino 24 hours a day and the need for an office at the casino. He said with the increase in traffic that the casino would generate comes more accidents. Studies show that to be true along with more speeding violations and DUI arrests.
He mentioned that the town has a few lines to lay a cross roads to count traffic and if we let him know what roads we want checked they would go out and do it for us.
