 Three Rivers Water Department
Billing Procedure
· Residential customers are billed every 3 months (four times a year) called quarters.
· The water rate is $2.50 per 1,000 gallons.
· Each dwelling unit or apartment is charged or 10,000 gallons of water each quarter regardless of use. This $25.00 fee per quarter per dwelling unit is called the minimum charge.
· A meter rental fee is also added to each bill.
· Each dwelling unit’s minimum charge is therefore $100.00 per year for water use and purchases 40,000 gallons of water.
· Once a year, the meter is read to determine the total amount of water consumed in the past year. If more than 40,000 gallons per year per dwelling unit was consumed, you are charged for any extra usage at the same rate of $2.50 per 1,000 gallons. This is called surplus water charge.
· Expect surplus water charge on your July bill.
· If you feel your usage to be abnormally high, refer to the water conservation links.
