PART-TIME EMERGENCY TELECOMMUNICATIONS DISPATCHER
The Town of Palmer is accepting applications for the position of Part-Time Emergency Telecommunications Dispatcher in the Palmer Police Department. This is a Per Diem position and does not include benefits.
Applicants must have previous police or police dispatching experience and hold current or previous certifications in CJIS, E-911 and IMC. Applicant will preferably also have certification in an APCO (or other equivalent) Basic Telecommunicator Course, Suicide Prevention, CPR and First Responder. Other minimum qualifications necessary to apply are a high school diploma or GED and experience in the use of personal computers operating in a Microsoft Windows environment. Applicant will be required to successfully complete a six-month probationary period.
The hourly rate while training for the position is $12.50. Upon successful completion of the training program, the rate will be $14.00 to $15.00 per hour.
