The Palmer Police Department operates and maintains 11 motor vehicles and 1 All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV). The department's fleet consists of a Chevrolet Impala, a Ford Expedition, 9 Ford Crown-Victorias (marked and unmarked), and a Bombardier ATV.
The Crown Victorias are used on daily routine patrol. The D.A.R.E. Police Car (Car #9) is assigned to the School Resource Officer. The Ford Expedition is mainly used for rugged terrain and inclement weather. The ATV is used for any deep woods or rugged terrain rescues. The ATV is used in cooperation with the local fire departments and ambulance service.
