Palmer Fire District No.1 – Palmer Fire/Rescue proudly protects 7,200 people living in an area of 15 square miles. We operate out of 1 station that protects a primarily residential area. Our department is a public department whose members are career and on a paid on call status. We have an ISO rating of 5.

The Palmer Fire Department has been serving the community since 1885. This department employs 25 On-Call Firefighters, 3 On-Call Lieutenants a Career Fire Chief, Captain, and Lieutenant.

TYPE OF GOVERNMENT: Fire District

There are four fire districts and three fire stations within the Town of Palmer's boundaries. They are Palmer Fire District No.1,       
Three Rivers District No.2, Bondsville Fire District No.3, and Thorndike Fire District No.4. Thorndike is protected by the Palmer Station.
